The Game Has Changed!:
There have been many new inventions that have defined combat for us and all others in this war. These inventions and
techniques include that of Trench Warfare, Poison Gas, Tanks, and Artillery, along with others. Trench Warfare is where an army
digs a trench into the ground, and uses it as cover and as a "home base." In between these trenches is an area called no mans
land, with a lot of barbed wire and where you are out in the open to easily be shot by the men in the trenches. There are various
types of Poison Gas that all do different things to biologically damage the opposing army in a cluster around the area of which the gas was released. A Tank is a giant hunk of metal that moves through no mans land and provides cover while rolling over and crushing barbed wire, allowing soldiers to move through no mans land with a lot more cover allowing more opportunities to kill those in the trenches. Artillery is a large long ranged projectile being projected through the air, travelling longer distances from the fact that it is lobbed through the air rather than shot at a straight line, this was used to hit trenches from afar, as well as launching large harmless (once landed) projectiles that can be used for cover.
These changes have caused much change in the war. When the Germans built the first trench (history.com (http://bit.ly/2gGaPUl)) they decided many things that would be kept for the bulk of the trenches built by other nations, such as the trench being strictly horizontal, it is also when they learned they are easily hit while leaving the trenches, and that is what developed the idea of "No Man's Land" in between the 2 trenches once both sides of each war began to dig these trenches, "No Man's Land" was the area in between the 2 trenches, where barbed wire was set up to slow the soldiers that werent shot immediatley after leaving the trenches, overall building a stale mate in the bulk of the fights. This is where tanks, chemical warfare, and artillery came in to play, where the poision gas and artillery, like mentioned above, are used to "bomb" or attack the trenches with area of affect, and the tank that was used to get acrossed no mans land safely, and the tanks are used to safely get across "No Man's Land" or to get a better angle on the trenches in No Man's Land.

Women in The Homeland:
Women are finally getting a more important role here at home! With all the men gone, the women of our society are stepping up, and taking care of the jobs that men had been doing in the many previous years. They have been working in factories, as Railway Guards, Ticket Collectors, Engineering, and even in Civil Service. They have also been doing jobs specific to helping the war, such as knitting clothes, socks, and other items for the soldiers, as well as chemical and nursery work that has been used fairly frequently throughout this past year and has been a huge help in our nearing victory in this "Great War."
With all these great things that women are doing to help us win the war, we havent all been treating them so well. They are being payed lower wages than the men used to be payed. This is outraging to the women who have been working so hard to continue running this country while all the men who used to do their jobs are out protecting the country they have been forced into running for these lower wages. This may create some leeway for them to obtain rights in the near future, as some of us are now starting to realize that women can do labor, women can work, and women do have a voice as well as limbs. None of these women have even gotten worse at the jobs they used to do before, as most of them have to continue to do those as well as making all the money and running the factories and what not, it seems that women are really going to make an impact in our country in the near future, even to those who say they havent already whether it be in the past few years or past few decades.

Woodrow's 14 Points:
Woodrow Wilson's 14 points, was a speech essentially to aim at world peace at the end of this war. In the speech, Wilson directly addressed what he thought were the causes for the war by calling for the end of many secret treaties, an adjustment in colonial claims in the interests of both native peoples and colonists, and freedom of the seas. Wilson also made points that would attempt to ensure world peace in the future. Like how he has proposed the removal of economic barriers between nations, the promise of “self-determination” for those oppressed minorities, and a world organization that would provide a system of collective security for all nations.
Wilson’s 14 Points were designed to undermine the Central Powers and will to continue and to inspire the Allies to victory. This speech has already had a huge impact in the line of thinking from the allies, and everyone else, and will have a major impact on what happens when this war comes to an end, hopefully in the near future. These points will help create an enviorment of peace and prosperity not just in the united states, but in the world. Rumor has it these points are helping to shape the treaties that are being written up or drafted that will be ending the war, projected by our calculations to be at the very end of this year, or very beginning of next year, and hopefully we will be in a country, nation, and world of peace.
